Chinatown was a modern noir about corruption. This is one of his most known roles. He tried to reprise it in The Two Jakes, which I think he wrote, but it didn't quite cohere.

The scene with the line "nosy fella" is one with director Roman Polanski. :)

Q5: About Schmidt

This is my favorite Jack film!!! The script was fun and he was great to watch.

Usually, voice over narrations are the kiss of death in a screenplay. They rarely work. This one does; he is writing letters to his sponsored child from Africa. The words often clash with the images, making the scene even funnier.

Q4: Easy Rider

It is hard to find a scene from this film that will make sense. It's basically a drug and alcohol induced road trip/buddy picture with statements about American culture. (It's a lot better than that description makes it sound, but there are also scenes that feel way too long.)

If the outfits look familiar and you haven't seen the film, you may have identified the inside joke with the recent Starsky and Hutch film.

It's still my favorite Jack film. It's a messed up horror film.
